INTROIT                  My Great Redeemer’s Praise

WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS

*CALL TO WORSHIP
Like the disciples, we gather in this space, united by our relationship with the Risen Christ.
We come ready to receive what God has to give.
Just as tongues of fire descended on the disciples,
We receive the gift of the Spirit’s power and inspiration.
Just as the resurrected Christ breathed the Spirit onto the disciples,
We receive the gift of the Spirit’s peace and wisdom.
As the lifegiving and peacemaking Holy Spirit blazes through us today,
We receive the gift of the Spirit’s fire that unites us as the Body of Christ. Amen.

*OPENING PRAYER
O God, the Holy Spirit, come to us, and among us, come as the wind, and cleanse us; come as the fire, and burn; come as the dew, and refresh; convict, convert, and consecrate many hearts and lives to our great good and to thy greater glory; and this we ask for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen.

*HYMN            Come, Holy Ghost, Our Hearts Inspire            No.  603

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH                                  The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
